With your support this will hopefully develop into an information
base which relates to the history and tradition of koryu (classical schools
of martial education), modern budo (judo, aikido and such like) and goshin (self defence) which is the
main element of many martial arts clubs in the UK.
This site was primarily designed to help students of Tamanegi ryu, gaijin ga tsukuriagata gendai shin budo taijutsu but many people of different Martial Arts and systems have found information presented here to be of use and interesting to them. I hope you find something thought provoking here also.
To get a better idea of our intentions and views please read the about us section as this will give you an idea about our general attitude and ethos. You will also find some short articles which will hopefully substatiate this stance on the Japanese Martial Arts.

On Feruary 14th 2008 i finally set up a forum for those with an interest in Martial Arts, particularly Japanese systems, to discuss our shared interests.
It is hoped that over time this will become a useful arena for discussion, debates and a place to promote courses and seminars as well as keep in contact with others who have similar interests.

The Association of Independent Martial Artists is our small association offering Public liability, Instructor indemnity and student
to student insurance for all members, cover is aranged
by TL Risk Solutions and underwritten by New Hampshire Insurance Company
under the name of the Association of Independent Martial Artists.

Thank you for taking the time to read through this and view our site. I hope you find something of interest and sign up on our forum. I look forward to training with some of you in the future.
